The Role: As a Minecraft Network Configurator, you will be responsible for configuring our network systems. You will ensure that new features are integrated properly. You will work closely with the rest of the team, bringing your creativity and expertise to improve our game modes.

What Will You Do?

  • Configure plugins and server settings for different Minecraft networks.
  • Maintain and update servers based on project information.
  • Test new features to ensure they work properly before they go to the QA team.
  • Collaborate with other team members to solve issues and provide the best possible experience for our players.
  • Develop creative solutions and suggest new ideas for game elements.

What Are We Looking For in You?

  • Demonstrate reliability and accountability for your work, knowing that your contribution affects the gaming experience of millions of players.
  • Show initiative, work independently, and collaborate closely with the team.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Experience in configuring Minecraft servers is a plus.
  • Creativity and passion for Minecraft.
  • Reside within the CET timezone (±4h).

Function Profile

Month 1: Onboarding and Learning the Basics

  • Familiarize with the Network: Understand the structure of our Minecraft network, including server setups, plugins, and the overall game modes.
  • Tool Setup and Configuration: Gain proficiency with our configuration tools and processes, and set up your working environment for remote collaboration.
  • Training and Documentation: Go through onboarding documentation, understand current plugin configurations, and learn the core values and culture of the team.
  • Shadow Team Members: Observe and assist more experienced team members in configuring plugins and server settings.
  • First Contributions: Begin configuring smaller plugins and making minor adjustments under the guidance of the team.

Month 2: Independent Configuration and Collaboration

  • Independent Configuration: Take responsibility for configuring plugins and server settings on different networks without close supervision.
  • Testing and QA Collaboration: Independently test new features before passing them to the QA team to ensure quality.
  • Problem Solving and Creative Input: Start taking on more complex issues, contributing your creativity to solve configuration challenges, and suggesting new ideas for gameplay improvements.
  • Regular Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to resolve configuration-related issues and understand feedback from QA testing.

Month 4: Advanced Configuration

  • Large Configuration Projects: Take ownership of configuring larger, more impactful features for the Minecraft network.
  • Creative Leadership: Proactively contribute creative ideas for new game modes or features, and work on implementing these ideas into the network.
  • Mentor and Document: Assist newer team members, contribute to updating documentation, and help refine processes for better efficiency across the team.
